Everyone starts a match equal. What you do in the match decides who wins, not what you spent outside it.
No purchase needed to sign up or play.
Never for sale
Damage, health, armour, weapons, weapon upgrades, war machine stats, ELO, rank or matchmaking priority.
Earned in the match
Every combat item is bought with gold earned during that match. Gold resets every match.
Planned: optional paid hosting
To help pay for game servers, we plan optional paid hosting for parties and clans. It gives no combat advantage. Joining a party or clan, and Play Online, stay free. Price and billing are not set, and nothing is for sale in the current test version.
Leaving does not dodge a loss
Players who leave or go idle in rated matches still receive the result, so a quit cannot save someone’s rating.

Is BOLTFRAY free to play?
Yes. Playing matches is free.
Will there be cosmetics?
Cosmetic rewards may come later. They will never change combat stats.
Can paid hosts get better matchmaking?
No. Hosting only lets you create a party or clan; it does not change matchmaking or ratings.
